My Journey

Based in Seattle Washington, I help clients achieve their best mental and physical health by exploring the truest and most raw versions of themselves through food, movement, mindfulness, and curiosity. I started my nursing career in 2009 in the intensive care unit, where I cared for the sickest people in the hospital, most of whom were on maximum life support.

I rushed around for 12+ hour shifts day in and day out, consoling anxious family members while desperately trying to keep their loved ones alive. Faced with the fragility of life on a daily basis, I became determined to help people identify the poor health habits and rampant stress patterns that were landing my patients in the ICU. Merely keeping them alive didn’t feel like a solution – it felt like a failure. There had to be a different way.

I started by recognizing deficits in my own life that were negatively impacting my health. Simple things like hydration, proper nourishment, and sleep quality were all falling by the wayside. My anxiety levels were skyrocketing and my energy levels were tanking. If my sparkle for life was there, I was having a very hard time feeling it!

I knew if I didn’t start caring more about my own health, I wouldn’t be able to care for and support my patients. My journey began slowly. I started learning about and practicing yoga and mindfulness. I became curious about where my food came from, how I prepared it, who I was eating it with, and how it influenced the way my body felt. I adjusted my diet by being intentional about the types of food I was using to nourish my body. The results were positive and I was enthusiastic about sharing my results with others, especially those who were struggling with chronic health issues. I even joked that I would love to put green juice in my patient’s tube feedings if the hospital would let me!

I feel privileged to be able to merge the skills I’ve learned as a certified functional nutrition counselor and yoga guide with my expertise as a healthcare provider. I am honored to come alongside my clients to help them maximize their health and wellness and prevent chronic health conditions from dominating and draining their quality of life or worse, taking it from them. It is my truest joy to help clients prioritize both their bodies and minds, finding honest healing to be the best versions of themselves. And just maybe we will laugh and have fun along the way to doing so!
